Within her plump biological vessel

The interior of the cafe was enveloped in a moderate, steady din, while outside the glass, autumn foliage swayed under the friction of the wind.

Scanning the landscape, I could feel the intense weight of her gaze, hyper-focused on the mechanics of my posture.

“Hey! Your legs are spread open again!” Sitting directly across from me, Natsumi glared, her face flushing a deep crimson.

“Come on, there’s no need to be that hostile. It’s not like anyone is analyzing us,” I replied languidly, sinking my center of gravity deep into the chair, leaving my thighs wide apart.

It was true that I was currently clad in a skirt—a posture I would fundamentally never adopt under normal parameters. However, I felt her reprimand was entirely disproportionate to the offense.

“Whether they are watching or not is completely irrelevant! Displaying that kind of posture in a skirt is humiliating!” Her voice spiked in volume, drawing a sudden vector of attention from the surrounding patrons. Sensing the shift, she instantly suppressed her tone in a panic.

The displacement of our consciousnesses had been a matter of pure, chaotic chance.

Last night, the moment Natsumi and I collided on the street, a blinding flash encapsulated our visual fields. When spatial awareness returned, our internal identities had been commuted into each other’s biological structures.

And now, I was occupying Natsumi’s vessel—a frame possessing a higher fat mass, defined by its distinctly feminine, rounded contours.

Every time I sat, the sensation of my thigh tissue being pressed flat and expanding against the hard surface of the chair offered an entirely novel piece of tactile feedback. Casting my eyes downward, I could see the soft mass of my thighs bulging prominently beneath the fabric of the skirt draped over my knees. The sheer physical presence of this mass induced an indescribable anatomical alienation.

“Hey, are you processing a single word I’m saying?” Natsumi’s voice severed my internal analysis.

“I’m listening, I’m listening. I just need to close them, right?”

Muttering the response, I begrudgingly retracted my thighs, forcing my knees together. The resulting friction of the flesh compressing inward felt disturbingly realistic, triggering a wave of psychological discomfort.

“See? That’s all it takes. That is the absolute baseline of baseline etiquette.”

“Sure, but when your legs possess this much mass, maintaining this compression actually requires a significant expenditure of energy.”

“…Keep your analytical commentary to yourself!”

Still trapped within my original vessel, Natsumi knitted her brows. The gesture was so perfectly characteristic of her identity that it almost provoked a laugh.

“Still, it’s fascinating how yielding your body is, Natsumi.” Casual in my curiosity, I pinched the skin of my own arm to verify the depth of the subcutaneous tissue. Feeling the thick mass of the upper arm sink slightly under the pressure of my fingers, I was genuinely impressed by its composition.

“Stop that! Do not touch my body like that!”

Blushing intensely with embarrassment, she attempted to physically intervene. However, as someone who had swapped out of a naturally lean frame into this higher-mass chassis, I held the structural advantage. So long as she remained encased in my original, lighter body, she could not overpower me.

“Relax, I was merely testing the mechanics. This composition actually isn’t terrible.”

With those words, I gave my upper arm a slight shake. The subtle, delayed oscillation of the tissue that followed the movement provided a bizarre feedback loop, and a laugh slipped out before I could check it.

“Seriously, cease execution! It’s profoundly humiliating!”

Natsumi buried her face in both hands, retreating deep into her chair. Witnessing her distress, a minor trace of guilt finally surfaced regarding my uninhibited consumption of her anatomy.

“Look, Natsumi. Navigating reality inside a vessel with these specifications… it’s actually quite an arduous task,” I said, my tone shifting to a more serious register.

“Of course it is. That is precisely why I commanded you to regulate your behavior,” she stated, crossing my original arms over her chest. The gesture possessed a strange, uncharacteristic authority that felt entirely surreal to witness from the outside.

“But I genuinely think this archetype has its merits. It’s soft, and there is a certain… sense of absolute stability to it.”

“…I explicitly told you to stop talking!”

Watching her face darken to an even deeper shade of red, I let out a low chuckle.

“Hey… do you think it’s mechanically possible for us to return to our original vessels?”

On the trek home after exiting the cafe, she murmured the question, a sudden wave of psychological vulnerability bleeding through.

“Who knows? But don’t let your anxieties spiral. We were displaced into this state, which means an inverse protocol to reverse the process must logically exist.”

“I hope so…”

There was a distinct tremor in her voice. I lightly tapped her shoulder, keeping my gaze fixed forward.

“It’s fine. Even if reinstatement proves impossible, I will engineer a solution.”

“Heh… hardly a reliable promise. But thank you.”

The exact moment her lips curved into a slight smile, I felt an intuition that we could sustain each other through this anomalous crisis.

With this yielding shell and a rigid resolve—we would somehow manage the reality that lay ahead.
