Naoto was strolling down a cobblestone path reflecting the afternoon light after a recent shower. He had taken a detour along the old highway to wash off the fatigue of the workday, lured by the strangely nostalgic atmosphere drifting through the air.

That was when a woman draped in a stark white kimono suddenly commanded his field of vision.

She walked with a quiet, measured grace, the silhouette of her posture tracing a flawless, elegant line from her shoulders down to her back. Her hair was swept up into a meticulous evening-style twist, a delicate floral ornament swaying gently with her movements. She existed like a pristine figure cut out from another era.

“Excuse me.”

The words left Naoto’s mouth before he could stop them. As she turned around, he caught his breath.

Her features were sharp yet refined, her cheeks brushed with a faint, delicate crimson. Her expression harbored a sophisticated elegance, subtly underscored by a profound, lingering loneliness.

“Yes? How can I help you?”

Faced with her quiet, serene voice, Naoto pressed forward on pure momentum.

“Are you alone? You just looked so breathtakingly beautiful that I couldn’t help myself…”

The woman’s eyes widened slightly in surprise, but she soon offered a soft smile.

“Thank you for the kind words. I was merely taking a brief walk…”

Naoto seized the opportunity to expand the conversation. He spoke of the craftsmanship of her kimono, the clearing weather, and subtly inflected his tone with care, noting her solitary, melancholic aura. She played along smoothly enough, yet Naoto felt an underlying friction, as if their gears weren’t entirely meshing.

As the dialogue stretched on, Naoto boldly ventured an invitation: “If you’d like, we could head back to my place to relax and grab some tea.”

The woman—who introduced herself as Yuka—seemed to hesitate for a fraction of a second, but ultimately she gave a quiet nod of assent.

Yuka’s residence was an old-fashioned, traditional Japanese house. The rich, grounding aroma of timber filled the air, creating a structural shell that suited her kimono-clad figure perfectly. Naoto pumped his fist in a silent internal victory, his expectations swelling with selfish anticipation. Excellent. This should make the rest of the evening smooth sailing.

Suddenly, however, Yuka’s expression hardened into an intense, chilling seriousness.

“By the way… don’t you find yourself wanting to wear my kimono?”

Naoto’s eyes widened at the preposterous, abrupt proposition.

“What? No, why would I…?”

“Don’t lie. If that weren’t the case, you wouldn’t have been devouring me with your eyes the entire time.”

Yuka let a dark, enigmatic smile play on her lips.

“But… the mechanics of dressing are notoriously difficult for men. Furthermore, with your current physical mass and frame, it would be impossible to fit into my garments.”

As she spoke, Yuka smoothly extended her arm, her slender fingertips making contact with Naoto’s shoulder.

“So, let me make the process effortless for you.”

The next instant, a violent, crushing wave of vertigo assaulted Naoto’s consciousness.

The moment Naoto forced his eyes open, he gasped, completely paralyzed by the sensory shock.

The reflection staring back from the mirror was undeniably Yuka. The delicate, flawless facial structure; the supple, slender arms; and the pristine, blinding white of the kimono.

“W-what the hell is this?! I’ve… I’ve become Yuka-san!”

The voice vibrating from his vocal cords was hers as well—high, clear, and resonant. Confronting his absolute panic, Yuka—or rather, the entity now occupying Naoto’s heavy, masculine container—simply offered a clinical, detached smile.

“It’s shocking, isn’t it? But this is by far the most efficient method. Please, feel free to enjoy the kimono within that body.”

“Enjoy it…? Yuka-san, what do you plan on doing with my body?!”

“Well, now that I possess a vessel with far more functional mobility, I intend to fully relish the outside world.”

Dressing herself in Naoto’s corporate attire, Yuka promptly turned on her heel and vanished out the front door.

Left entirely alone in the vacant house, Naoto struggled to navigate the unfamiliar logistics of his new anatomy. Yet, amidst the somatic confusion, Yuka’s parting words—enjoy the kimono—kept echoing in his mind.

Tentatively, he began to pace around the tatami room in his white attire. The vision in the mirror—no, Yuka’s physical form—was breathtaking. With every step forward, the light fabric of the hem fluttered weightlessly, and the tactile sensation of the obi sash hugging his waist sent a remarkably comforting, pleasant thrill through his consciousness. Gradually, seamlessly, Naoto found his mind adapting to the reality of occupying a female form.

However, as the hours bled away, there was no sign of Yuka’s return. The deeper they sank into the night, the more a suffocating dread began to constrict his chest.

(What if she’s using my body to do something horrific right now…?)

As night solidified, he desperately tried to strip off the kimono. But the physical mechanics eluded him. He had no understanding of how the intricate knots of the obi were secured; his frantic fumbling only tightened the fabric, throwing him into a deeper psychological panic. Defeated, he collapsed into a heap on the tatami mats, completely trapped inside the white cage of silk.

The night had grown profoundly deep by the time Yuka finally stepped through the door. Wearing Naoto’s masculine face, she bore an expression of intense, triumphant satisfaction, as if she had successfully executed a long-awaited mission.

“Welcome back… What on earth were you doing in my body?”

“Oh, just fully indulging in a few activities I am normally barred from experiencing. Surely, it was a fair trade?”

Yuka dismissed his terror with a casual, clinical nonchalance, once again placing her heavy hand upon Naoto’s fragile shoulder. The next instant, the violent sensation of his soul being violently ripped backward and slammed into his original flesh overtook him.

Having reclaimed his original mass, Naoto suppressed the burning urge to scream, cross-examining her instead.

“Why… why did you put me through that?”

Yuka answered with a quiet, chilling serenity.

“You harbored a hidden fixation to experience my kimono. If that is the case, rather than forcing the garment onto your clumsy frame, wasn’t it infinitely faster to taste it through the heightened sensitivity of my own flesh? Your expression in the tatami room told the whole story—I know you thoroughly enjoyed it.”

Naoto opened his mouth to violently deny her words, but his voice died in his throat. He was entirely powerless to refute the paradox. The memory of moving through the world wrapped in that beautiful, weightless silk had been, inexplicably, an intoxicating delight.

“If you ever wish to experience it again, seek out this highway.”

Yuka offered a final, elegant smile before turning back toward the cobblestone path, dissolving into the distance.

Thereafter, Naoto returned to that old street countless times, but his eyes never caught sight of her white kimono again.
